The cable is 3
metres long and is sleeved to give the cable much needed reliability. The cable
also features an in-line “control pod” that allows users to control volume as
well as mute/unmute the mic. Unlike regular headsets that have a 3.5mm audio and
mic-in connector, Iron Head comes with a single USB connector doing the job of delivering
audio and talking in through the mic. While the headset is plug-and-play,
Zebronics also bundles a CD with the drivers. The Iron Head comes with a 40mm driver
and we were impressed by the sound quality. The 7.1 simulated sound channel also
helps with the sound, delivering crystal clear audio and a good bass. The soft
ear pads along with foam cushions are comfortable to use for prolonged hours
and acts as a passive noise cancelling mechanism.
Consumers have
quite a few options when it comes to gaming headsets and Zebronics have announced
a gaming headset range for those looking for an affordable solution. We’re
taking a look at the Iron Head that sits on top of Zebronics’ gaming headset
food chain. The design, while utilitarian, seems to be a bit toyish with a
glossy black finish and red accents. The mic is retractable which means user
can safely place it back when not in use. The build quality is flimsy, as well.
The whole body is plastic, including the headband, which could pose an issue if
stretched beyond a certain degree. The cable, however, is a complete contrast
to the headphones.
